I have a 9.5 – 10 narrow foot. Does Josef Seibel, Clarks or Born make narrow sandals or shoes….or can you offer any well-made brand that I can try? thank you. alainebohnsak@gmail.com
Narrow shoes are just one type of shoe preferred by women with small feet and slender legs. An example of early narrow shoes can be traced back to 12th century China, when the tradition of foot-binding to make the feet smaller was practiced. However, most narrow shoes are made today for one purpose only: fashion.
There are some factors to consider when choosing narrow shoes. These include the material, comfort, quality, and price. The material of your shoes, which includes the outer and inner lining, is important because they determine the breathability of your shoes. Make sure that you get a pair of shoes made of material that you are not allergic to, one that will not cause chaffing or any other form of irritation on your skin. The padding and the insole should also be made of durable material as these provide you with support.
Quality is also another important consideration if you want your shoes to last. You will find that there are known shoe brands that make use of good quality materials. Ask your salesperson about which shoes are durable and are made of good quality material as there are also lesser-known brands that make use of good and even better quality material than some designer brands.
The heel height is also important. Most narrow shoes come with one to two-inch heels, although there are some heels that are taller than these. If you have back, knee, or weight problems, however, it is good to stick to narrow shoes with shorter heels.
Because narrow shoes are usually bought to complement a particular outfit, the color, the design, and how well it complements your attire should also be considered. Fortunately, most women seem to be born with a natural gift when it comes to pairing shoes with the rest of their outfits. The general rule is that the shoes should match or complement the dress. The easiest way to do this is to get a color from the dress and look for narrow shoes with that color. The little black dress can work well with a fashionable pair of narrow shoes with an ideal heel height. Shoes should also preferably fit the material of the outfit. For example, a satin dress can be paired with a satin pair of narrow shoes.
If you are on a budget, check out discount shoe stores or shoe sales. A good pair of shoes doesn’t have to be expensive. However, it’s never a good idea to compromise the quality of the shoes and the comfort they offer for a lower price.
